Event Type

Repurpose fabric scraps, old clothing, linens, ribbon, shoe laces, scarves, bandanas, etc. by weaving them through bamboo on a lampshade frame to create a one-of-a-kind basket that also has a story or two woven into it! We will have a lunch break from 11am-1pm.

Supplies Needed:

  • Fabric scraps, ribbons, or laces should be a minimum of 12” long. Consider how the colors, patterns, and textures will coordinate and complement one another when selecting. The more the better, but plan on approximately one large shopping bag’s worth.
  • Lampshade – The more unique the shape, the better! If unsure, bring a couple to choose from. Height should be in the 8”-12” range. Thrift stores are a great source.
  • Ball of yarn, jute, twine, or other heavy-duty string in color of your choice. Neutrals work best without detracting from the fabric patterns or colors.
  • Glue gun & glue sticks

Bamboo, cutting utensils, and miscellaneous tools will be provided.
