Troy Knight first picked up a camera as a seventeen year old soldier in Korea. The bleakness of post war Korea is very evident in those old black and whites. Later as a father and community leader, he captured family parties, Christmas mornings and Community activities. His camera was always near at hand, and he began to take classes to improve his skills. One of these classes was an horseback trip in the Big Bend State Park which was a learning and an endurance test. Troy’s love of the outdoors is reflected in his pictures of birds, animals, and landscapes that he has been privileged to visit in his travels throughout the world. Galveston as also given him wonderful and varied venues to photograph. His work has been displayed in the Galveston Art League Gallery and it has also been sold during Galveston Market Days. He still looks for the perfect shot and the chance to tell another story with his camera.
