My Undergraduate degree is in Art Education. After graduation from Arkansas State University, I taught art in the secondary schools for a number of years. A few years later I earned a Master of Art degree from that same University and a few years after that I completed a Master of Fine Arts at the University of Memphis. After a detour into museum and gallery work, I began teaching in the Department of Art at Arkansas State University. During my nineteen years there I taught Art Education and basic design courses. I supervised art teacher interns in the field as well.
During the afore mentioned years I made art which was shown in various venues throughout the country. Some of my art has been shown in foreign countries as well.
I have been retired from teaching for eleven years. During these years I have continued to make paintings, mixed media pieces and photographs. I show my work regularly at the Galveston Art League and have shown in a few other local and regional galleries. I’m showing photographs at GAL in November 2021, that are from a body of work that I made using film cameras. They were printed in the darkroom using the gelatin silver print method.
