Joyce Buffalo is originally from Erie, PA. She has lived in Minneapolis, New York City and Germany and then back to Erie. She and her family moved to Galveston in 1994 and reside in Jamaica Beach. Joyce had a career in the travel industry for 40 years.
Joyce appreciated art when growing up. She loved to draw and paint. Both her dad and mom painted. When she moved to Galveston, she loved going to ArtWalk. This is where she met Sallie Anderson, a watercolor teacher. She started taking lessons from Sallie in 2004 and is still involved with the lessons. Joyce has traveled to France and Fredericksburg with a group of art students and has attended workshops.
Joyce is a member of the Galveston Art League where she volunteers at the gallery. Starting in 2022, she will be the director of the Juried exhibitions show.
