Galveston Art League’s Featured Artist, Jackie Liddell, has demonstrated a lifelong dedication to art through teaching, community involvement, and her love of painting. She holds a master’s degree in fine arts, with a lifetime membership in the Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi, the Purple Sage signature membership in The Texas Watercolor Society, an Elite Signature membership in The Watercolor Art Society of Houston, and a Signature membership in the National Society of Art. Liddell spent 40-plus years teaching art in Clear Creek Independent School District, University of Houston Clear Lake, and Alvin Community College; she has also facilitated workshops in many Texas cities.
Liddell’s awards include an honorable mention in the Watercolor Art Society’s International Exhibition, the Merchandise Award in the Texas Watercolor Society Exhibition, and 2021 Featured Artist of the Texas City Art Festival. Her recent McGivney Purchase Award-winning paintings hang in Galveston’s Rosenberg Library and her paintings also have appeared in prestigious publications.
To promote the importance of art for our future, Liddell volunteers as director of Galveston Art League’s annual Galveston County student art show.
