Nancy House began her creative journey at a young age exploring nature and its vast elements growing up along the San Juan River in Colorado. After retiring from the aerospace industry, the scope of Nancy’s creativity grew to embrace numerous media from to paper mâché to pottery to mixed media. Her work couples the elements of nature with whimsy.
Nancy actively participates in the local art scene and has worked with art leagues and colleges in the greater Galveston area, teaching the art of paper mâché and hand-made paper. She is on the Board of Directors at the Galveston Art League where she plans the League’s workshops, demonstrations, local travel, and extended travel. She is the coordinator of the annual Texas City Art Festival. Nancy collaborated with Pat Jakobi to write and publish the history of the Galveston Art League, Galveston Art League: A Century of Island Art.
