Member Show Featuring Matt Logmann

July 2 – July 26, 2026

About the Artist

Matt Logmann started in the field of photography a half century ago. He was hooked from the first image that he developed in the darkroom. The only formal training he has received were workshops out of Santa Fe, along with the guidance and support of their instructors. He read every article he could about photography and looked at photographs to see what made a great image. One could say that he was taught by every photographer whose work he saw until he developed his own vision.

When asked what he photographs, Matt replies, whatever presents itself. His catalogue looks like it belongs to multiple photographers, because anything that attracts him is his favorite subject. He enjoys finding the photograph that is “there somewhere.” To quote Henri Cartier-Bresson, “The photograph takes me.”

Matt is a member of the Galveston Art League and exhibits there. He has won numerous awards in their jury shows in recent years, including first place in photography twice, and was awarded Best of Show at the Texas City Art Festival. His work can be viewed at MattLogmann.com and on Instagram at Mlogmann.
